The Birth Of CURSE

When I started going to school for musical theatre, we were urged to pick a stage name to use for our music. I wanted to choose something that was separate from myself, but still alluded to my real name. I decided to take inspiration from my Instagram username, and go by CURSE. I’ve used this name to create a sort of horror/pop persona that takes hold whenever I perform live.

The Albums So Far…

I’ve released two full length albums, and one EP under the CURSE name. The first is called “Fresh Blood”, a tribute to the horror films and media that inspire me. The second album, “Innocence Lost” is a pivot toward a more pop sound, with a bigger emphasis on vocals and vocal layering. My most recent project is called “Masquerade.” Inspired by The Phantom Of The Opera, gothic romance, and pop ballads, it marries all the different sounds I love into one 6-track experiment.

LIVE and Death

The first time I introduced CURSE to the world I took a big swing. I had been wanting to perform my original music live for a long time. I released my first album in October 2022, and the follow up in March 2023, with plans to make a third, but it just didn’t feel real. After seeing a few concerts and getting inspired, I decided that if an opportunity wasn’t going to fall into my lap, I had to just make one for myself. So, I scoured LA for a venue, got in contact with The Three Clubs, and put a whole show together by myself. Next, I got in contact with some friends I went to college with and asked them to open for me! Sarah, MARS, and RYKER brought their A-game, and RYKER actually designed that beautiful poster you see up there. The epic eyeball logo was designed by my friend Liv, and animated by Neks on Fivver. Since then I’ve been able to bring CURSE back to life several times, for different monthly and annual events.
